Tuesday's meeting - One Pot Meal demonstration

As a reminder, our skills activity tomorrow is cooking a “one-pot” meal. Each patrol will cook as a group using on backpacking stove.

If you volunteered to bring the food, please bring your patrol’s food. We only need enough food for each Scout to sample their patrol’s dish.

December 11th Rechartering dinner

November 22, 2007

First I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday, December 11th, we will be having our Troop re-charter night, which will also be our Holiday pot luck. Heather Hutton will be sending out details or contacting you regarding the pot luck, but one of the features will be a Powerpoint show being put together by Brian Manidok highlighting the Troop's recent trip to Philmont High Adventure Camp.

As part of the re-chartering, we will be renewing Troop membership for all the scouts and registered adults, and also accepting new applications for any adults. This means that we need everyone to attend. The scout dues will remain at $60, with an additional $12 if the scout wants to receive Boy's Life. The adult registration is $10.

Troop Committee Chair needed!

November 22, 2007

Larry Vertel -

At the beginning of this year, I stated I would be stepping down as the Committee Chair to focus on other areas in the Troop, and asked for volunteers for this position. Throughout the year, various individuals have stepped up to take on vacant positions, and I want to thank those individuals, but as of yet, no one has stepped forward to take the Committee Chair position. WIth re-chartering this becomes an important issue, as one of the required positions to be filled for a Troop charter to be renewed is Committee Chair. If we try and renew the charter without the Committee Chair role filled, we risk losing the Troop charter which has been in existence for 80 years. I will still be around to help our new Committee Chair, and am available with any questions regarding the responsibilities of this position. Please contact me if you are interested.
