PLC Meeting - August 21 Time Change

Troop 1610:

As a reminder, our regular Tuesday Troop meetings will resume on September 2, 2008. There is no meeting tonight, August 19th.

A Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meeting is scheduled for this Thursday,
August 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 (EARLIER TIME THAN USUAL) in the Troop Room.

Please send me any agenda items you would like to discuss. As usual, the
Troop will provide pizza and pop for this meeting.

AVIATION campout to the Wright Air Force Base Museum 11/7-11/9/08

The aviation campout to the Wright Air Force Base Museum in Dayton to occur on 11/7-11/9/08. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in aviation to see more aircraft in one place then almost anywhere else.

Cedar Point Amusement Park - Day Trip September 27

The troop will be taking a day trip to Ceder point on September 27

We will be leaving Saturday morning at 9:30 and returning to the church at 10:30.

Food arrangements as follows

• Eat breakfast before arriving Saturday.
• Bring a packed lunch with drink.
• Dinner will be provided

For you new parents in boy scouts the boys graduate to shooting 22 rifles and shotguns. This is done under the supervision of a trained adult on a BSA approved shooting range.

This years Troop Picnic is Sunday August 24 at Starr park East of Crooks on 13 Mile road.

Church Ice Cream social August 10th

The First Congregational Church of Royal Oak is hosting an ice cream social on August 10th from 3:00 to 5:00. The entire Troop, including families, are invited to attend.

Our Troop is providing service hours to support this event. The following Scouts have already signed up to help: James Greenway; Eddy Pendergast; David Poduska; Nick Pitchford; Nick Jelonek; Steve Kaurala; and John Tisler. The Troop will provide help with the set-up (starting at 1:45), help during the event, and assist with clean-up afterward.

If any additional Scouts want to volunteer to help, please let Mr. Pitchford know.
