Dear Scouts and Parents of Troop 1610,
I write to you now that I have settled into my current work location in Euless, TX. I wanted to send you all a quick note to tell you thank you for letting me have the opportunity for helping your son's grow and mature into fine young men. I truly do miss you all. It's a different life down here in Texas. I did ask our troop committee before I left to allow me to continue remotely as your Troop 1610 Eagle Advisor. Until I hear otherwise..... that is what I exactly plan to do. Once your sons reach the Life Scout rank feel free to have them call me anytime on my cell phone 248-613-9936 and I can begin to educate them on how to go from a "Life Scout" to "Eagle". I really enjoy mentoring the scouts in this process. And if I can help them get there that's what I plan to do. An Eagle scout's job is never done..... it's a journey that takes you many places to help others. I also will continue to build the slide shows for their Eagle "Court of Honors". These next two weeks (4 )scouts from our troop will present their Eagle projects to our District/Council level for approval..... never been done by a Royal Oak troop I know of...great job guys..Kyle,David,Alex and Eric.
They say in life you don't know how many blessing's you have until they are gone .....and not being able to see many of you and my family on a weekly basis isn't easy. It was a great joy of mine to help Troop 1610 over the past many years. It is an experience I will never forget. I'll be back in town for a weekend from time to time and hope to see many of your then.
As you get older....the more you help others the more it enriches your life greater than you ever imagined....
All the best to "you all"... Yours in Scouting...
(I've only been here a week and I'm already saying "you all", not good!)
