Dear scouts, teammates, friends, family and neighbors:

I am currently conducting my Eagle Scout project consisting of purchasing, assembling and delivering six benches to Royal Oak High School for its new Nature Center in the smaller courtyard. The primary method of securing the funds to purchase the benches is a large bottle drive in Royal Oak on November 7, 2009.

Please help me to conduct my Eagle Scout Project in one or more of the following ways:

Volunteers (including drivers) needed to distribute fliers on October 31, 2009 beginning at 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. starting at my house (1623 Edgewood Dr.)

Volunteers (including drivers) needed to pick-up, organize and return bottles on November 7, 2009 beginning at 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. starting at my house (1623 Edgewood Dr.)

Volunteers (16 and older) needed assemble benches on Saturday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. at my house (1623 Edgewood Dr.)

Cedar Point day trip CANCELLED

I have been watching the weather forecast for the Sandusky area and although the probability of rain has ranged from 30-60% for this coming weekend, it has been consistent in forecasting some level of rain. On top of this the high temperature for Saturday is forecast at 50 degrees with lows in the 40s. Due to this weather forecast, the trip to Cedar Point has been canceled.

2009 Troop Wreath Sale

The 2009 Troop Wreath Sale kickoff meeting was held at the last Troop meeting. If you noticed that your son brought a red folder home, that is beacause it has all the information and the order forms. If you haven't seen the folder, ask your son about it.

Just a few points:
Sales began September 29th
All order forms and money is due on November 10th - If you do not collect from your customers up front you will have to pay any amount due and reimburse yourself from collections afterwards

This is the major fundraiser allowing the Troop to keep dues down, while maintaining our excellent program. Plus the boys can earn between 40-60% of their profit based on sales that would be put in their scout account

There are sales after services at the church on October 11th. October 18th, October 25th and November 1st. I need 2 scouts at each sale. If you are interested in any of these dates, or have any questions, please contact me at (248) 841-3389.

Upcoming Campouts

Trail to Scouting - 10/9-10/11
Last week was the day to turn in permission slips and $ for This campout. At this time there are 14 scouts attending. If you have not turned in your permission slip and $ you need to get this in no later than next Tuesday.

Cedar Point Day Trip 10/24
The permission slip and $ are due for this by October 13th. To date we have 4 scouts and one non-driving adult (Scout who just turned 18). Please note that unless we get a minimum of 15 attendees and sufficient drivers, this day trip will be cancelled, as we would not get the lower ticket prices.

A note on Permission slip/$ due dates
We have due dates a couple weeks before the campout in order to plan properly (menus, shopping, transportation, etc). When you do not submit payments until the last possible moment you make it difficult on the Scout leaders, our Scoutmaster and other Adult leaders to plan the campouts. Although we usually can accomodate a couple of last minute adds, doing this could result in your son not being able to attend due to lack of food, space in vehicles, etc. if there are too many last minute adds. Please get your permission slips & $ in by the due dates listed on the bottom of the permission slips.

Thanks from Kyle

Hey everyone, this is Kyle Knapp again and I'd just like to thank everyone for their support at my Book Brunch on Sunday! The brunch went smoothly and I had a lot of helping hands that I am extremely grateful for. I raised close to three times the amount of money that I needed to reach my goal so I'm going to be able to buy a lot of books for a lot of children. Thanks again!!
