June 11-13 - Toledo Family Camp

The boys decided for June that they wanted to camp in the Toledo area and take part in some of the activities available in Toledo.

The Troop Committee decided to take this a little further and allow family members to participate in the activities for the day, or even camp in the same KOA the boys would be camping in.  Or, you could make accommodations elsewhere and just participate in the activities.

The plan is to arrive Friday at the Toledo East/Stony Ridge KOA where the boys will camp in the group area.  Adults staying with the boys will have to share tents due to space limitation in the group area.  On Saturday morning we will go to the Toledo Zoo.  We will go back to the KOA for dinner and then go to see a Toledo Mud Hens baseball game.  After the game we will return to the KOA for the night and return home the next day.

The expected cost is $45 for scouts and $20 for the adults.  The adult cost is being charged to cover ticket costs/entry fees to the activities.

For families there are 2 options:

  • Option 1 - Spend the full weekend.
If this is the case, you would be responsible for obtaining your own site at the KOA or other accommodations.  In this case you would be responsible for your own accommodations, food & gas.
  • Option 2 - Just come for the day on Saturday to participate in the activities.
But, since you do not have a site at the KOA would need make plans between the Zoo & the Game as KOA may not allow everyone to be in the campground
Either option will cost $20/person as this is basically covering entry fees, since the family is paying for their other expenses directly.

What needs to be done before March 1st

Pay a deposit of $10 per person as I want to order the baseball game tickets as early as possible in order to get as many seats together as possible.  This can be paid at any of the upcoming February Troop Meetings.

Please pass this on to Webelo 2 Leaders/Parents who may be crossing over into our Troop, so they have the opportunity to pay the deposit in order to participate in this campout.
